PETROLOGY

LIMESTONE:  is found in large areas and varieties.

                   1) Paleocene limestone
                   2) Upper-critidic limestone and more recent deposits:
                          a) Latipes with argillaceous copulative tissue
                          b) conglomerate and adobe rock formations

Á) of the Lithologic formation of the Tripolis Zone:
                          a) Pahistromatodis Upper-critidic Geologic Period. In areas these
are dolomites of a gray or gray-black color.
                          b) Niritic Paleocene-Eocene Geologic Period

Â) of the Lithologic formation of the Olonos-Pindos Zone:
There are  leptoplacodis limestone formations of the Upper-critidic
                     Geologic Period.

RADIOLARITES: with iliolithus of a red-brown color belonging to the Upper Jurassic
                     Geologic Period.

In the area we can also notice deposits of red faki piritolithon.
The Radiolarites at the higher levels are interchanged with
leptoplacodi                      rose-hued limestone. They belong to the Lithologic formation of the                      Olonos-Pindos Zone.

CONGLOMERATE: deposits of a large thickness that can be characterized as                      "torrential deposits". They belong to the Lithologic formation of more                      recent deposits.

LATIPES : with argillaceous copulative tissue of a red color known as "Conos                      Corimaton". They belong to the Lithologic formation of more recent                      deposits.
