Close to the village Kastria of the Municipality of Kleitoria, in the limestones of Mount Amolinitsa, on Chelmos Mountain, an underground river created the cave which has a length of 2 kms. Nowadays the river flows in lower levels, yet its presence is still intense in the one third of the cave where 13 permanent lakes are formed. The natural beauty of the lakes and the stalactitic decor attracts a great number of visitors.The cave was touristically developed 10 years ago.Unluckily the visitors can admire only the first 500 m. |
