According to the measurements of the last few years, by the geologist Dr. Vas. Giannopoulos, the following have been determined:

Temperature: The temperature measurements at various points in the cave have shown that this is affected by the external temperature, but remains at low and narrow limits (highest temperature 17.05 °C, lowest 12.33 °C).

Humidity: The humidity inside the cave is at high levels, while its absolute rate depends both on the external temperature and the internal movement of the wind (highest humidity 96.3%, lowest 71.3%).

Carbon dioxide and oxygen: The rates of gases are normal for a cave, while their small fluctuations depend on the number of visitors; for this reason the flow of people and the duration of their stay should be tested through special environmental studies. Biology: Four kinds of bats take refuge deep inside when the cave is open to the public, and move freely at other times through the natural aperture.
